NOTE: Not being a big fan of the whole electroclash thing, I just don't get Peaches. I actually find her kind of irritating (surprise!). However, I do like her cover of The Electric Six's smash hit "Gay Bar" (mp3). Watch the video of the original song here or the Peaches Gap ad (I guess it is a step up from the usual crap).

Bloc Party

Bloc Party guitarist/vocalist Kele Okereke and drummer Matt Tong joined WNYC's John Schaefer on Soundcheck this afternoon. They talked about the band's "fast rise up the indie charts" and more... here (mp3).

Apparently, "dark images" resonate in Okereke's brain and he didn't want to make "I love you baby, yeah, yeah, yeah"-type of music. Also, the recording for the new album is finished. All that remains is the mixing. Hopefully, they will avoid that dreaded sophomore slump.

Dead Kennedys

If you read this blog with any regularity, you know I am a big fan of punk rock. Punk's DIY ethos led to many creative achievements (e.g. - The Minutemen, Husker Du, X, The Ramones, and Dead Kennedys, to name a few). However, when people with narrow little minds hijack that ethos and use it to promote hate... it really pisses me off. And now iTunes is selling racist nazi crap. Fuckers!

Well, at least you can buy Plastic Surgery Disasters/In God We Trust, Inc on iTunes. Better yet, get it from emusic... here.
