White Snow By Ben Weaver

So, Ben Weaver has a new album entitled The Ax in the Oak coming out next month. In putting this recording together Ben worked with former Red Red Meat member Brian Deck (who had produced Iron And Wine, Modest Mouse, and Califone among others). In the studio were cellist
Julia Kent (Antony And The Johnsons), vocalist Erica Froman
(Anathallo), Will Duncan (drums), Blake Sloan (bass), and bassist Steve Reidell a/k/a STV SLV (The Hood Internet).

Downloadables:
"White Snow" (bloodshot mp3)
"Alligators And Owls" (bloodshot mp3)

Given Reidell's involvement will we see a Ben Weaver Vs. The Cool Kids Vs. James Pants Vs. Titus Andronicus mashup sometime soon?

The Boy With The Perpetual Nervousness By The Feelies

Seeing that many people are going apeshit over the fact that The Feelies are doing reunion shows (NYT!), I thought I might post a track to give those people saying "The Who-lies?" an idea of what The Feelies are all about.

Listen and it takes a while to get going so give it a chance OK mr. short attention span, oh wait what was I doing, I was posting an mp3... why am I still typing: "The Boy With The Perpetual Nervousness" (box.net mp3)

Hopefully, they will be able to (re)capture the vibe on this song.

GfC by Albert Hammond, Jr.

I'm not quite sure why Albert Hammond, Jr. signed to the home of American Idol recordings (feh). Maybe he just wants my sister to like him? Anyway, it hasn't affected his songcraft.
