Traces Of Alignment By Skinner Pilot

So, I namechecked a Pioneer Valley 90's indie rock band the other day, thinking I should do a follow up post. You know what? There is surprisingly little info about Skinner Pilot on ye ole internets. I do know that Skinner Pilot featured Elizabeth Sharp and that she is now Ill Ease. Plus, she was an original member of New Radiant Storm King, and she helped name that band after a brand of radiator. Anyway, I friggin' love this track, and you will too.

Without any further ado, Skinner Pilot everyone...

Downloadable: "Traces Of Alignment" (box.net mp3) from the Hotel Massachusetts compilation

And "Blackhole Sun" was overplayed to the extent that I still can't listen to it the whole way through. But you know what, I was always fond of "Let Me Drown" (ysi mp3). The guitar sounds almost UltraMeg-ish. Dig it.

The Boxes And Cubes Mini-Mix

I have been seeing boxes everywhere.

First I saw these two.

@ Union Square L Track
double light blue boxes

Then I saw this one.

Red Box

AND the I saw what has been called "Yellow Tape Box" (in The L Magazine's Best Of NY)

@ 12th St and 3rd Ave (I think)
Yellow Box

Then I decided to put together a mix of Boxes And Cubes. It turns out that I have very few "Cube" songs and many many "Box" songs. Have a listen:

"Sugarcube" (box.net mp3) by Yo La Tengo
